FINAL PROJECT

BETWEEN
The term that has guided me throughout this project is “void”.
My preoccupation with this term comes from the philosophical understanding that refers to emptiness, in-between, space, and time.
In this work, I examine these concepts through the void created between the ceramic bodies and the viewers, through space and sound.
I have created ceramic bodies that serve as resonating bodies. They vary in size and shape and consequently alter the sound in the space.
I see them as a musical translation of a language of forms within which I work.
The sound in the space is a recording of the sounds made by the ceramic bodies themselves along with a song I wrote and performed.
The song touches on pain, longing, memory, and emptiness like the ceramic bodies themselves.
I invite the audience to wander through this space and connect with themselves and me.
